It is the 3rd-most populous city in North Carolina, the 68th-most populous city in the United States, and the county seat and largest city in Guilford County and the surrounding Piedmont Triad metropolitan region. In addition to the Greensboro Grasshoppers-a Class A farm for the Florida Marlins and The Greensboro Swarm, part of NBA G League-the city also boasts one of the premiere sports and entertainment facilities of the southeast, the Greensboro Aquatic Center. The city of Greensboro is also home of the Wyndham Golf Championship, which annually attracts the PGA Tour's best and brightest stars.  The new state-of-the-art Performing Arts center will have a seating capacity of approximately 3,000 and host over 150 events a year beginning in 2020.
